Gill Marczak FICSc
 
 

Gill has many years experience working as a Freelance Home Economist, Food Stylist and University Lecturer. Her clients include Asda, Morrison, Sara Lee, Arla Foods, Sainsbury and Nutrition Point.

She is particularly experienced in International and Indian Cookery and has lectured at University on Ergonomics. Says Gill ‘ I practiced what I preached in my last kitchen design after realising I walked miles just to boil an egg!

Helen Porter
 

Helen ‘cut her teeth’, so to speak at the Milk Marketing Board! She spent over 10 years demonstrating recipes, working with the media and lecturing in Schools and Universities. She has also appeared on TV’s Farmhouse Kitchen and has been a ‘regular’ on local radio stations. She now works as a Freelance Home Economist, developing recipes and styling food for photography. She has worked closely with celebrity chef Brian Turner when they launched a new company to promote Northumbrian Foods.

Sara Arnott
 

Cordon Bleu trained at The Tante Marie School of Cookery, Sara boasts BOTH British and European Royalty among her previous employers! Her experience as Head Chef for these prestigious clients has been our gain! (If it’s good enough for them!) She is extremely talented in worldwide cuisine and can wrap a sushi roll in 3 seconds flat! She’s getting married in August so we wish her and her new hubby, Steve, all the best!

Karen Walker
 

Karen is a Freelance Home Economist who set out in the food industry over 20 years ago with the Dutch Dairy Bureau. She is very experienced in recipe development and runs cookery demonstrations – sometimes for up to 1,000 people at a time. Karen has worked for Kraft General Foods for 14 years at a Senior level and has travelled the world producing food for photography and commercials.

Sue Wilson
 

As a freelance IT Consultant, Sue has travelled the world, including 2 years in Sydney and some time spent writing from her former old barn in the Dordogne. In August 2003, she gained her diploma with the Wine and Spirit Education Trust in London. Since then she has been fully integrated into the wine industry as a journalist, tutor, importer and marker. She is published in many periodicals and is proposed into the Circle of Wine Writers – which boasts prestigious members such as Jancis Robinson MW and Oz Clarke.

We hope you find her monthly column interesting, fun and informative. More importantly, she hopes to give you some alternatives to Chardonnay, even if you still head for it every time!

Alison Higson
 
Alison’s background is as varied as it is colourful. She has worked overseas in her youth, has travelled extensively and has been in business in this country for many years. In fact, there’s not many challenges she wouldn’t take on! She is a great, but reluctant entertainer who never seems to have enough time to plough through cookbooks, write lists, find the right ingredients, wines or certain knick knack! Her imagination and enthusiasm has made The Evening Inn Company happen and she dedicates it to all those who are reading this and nodding!

Stuart claims to be the oldest of the team and has spent many years in business in the healthcare and grocery markets. Stuart’s been fortunate to be able to eat and drink his way round the world – some ‘Cajun King Crab’ in Trinidad to ‘Fishy Swim Bladder’ in China – we know which one we’d rather have!.
